I started playing the Demo about a year before my S2 purchse date.. I kept hearing talk about S2 comming out when it came time for me to buy it.. Soo I waited until I could pre-order S2 so I knew I'd get all the LFS content
I played on a mouse for over 4+ years and just got a G25 about a month ago and can't be more pleased..
I just wish for more updates if they are or aren't doing anything.. Or look for some development help... I'd be happy to pay a little extra money to get the dev speed rolling with some type of goal set for S3
I learned how to rev match without using a clutch before I even started messing around with heel toe techniques.
In my real car I use the side of my foot to blip the throttle while my other side of my foot is on the brake (depends on the brake throttle/ setup of the car).. With my G25 I race without shoes and I use the traditional method of heel toeing, and the feel of using 3 petals at once becomes seamless.
now in my real car I can heel toe and rev match without using the clutch between gears while down shifting very quickly without any hesitation.
I think the tires heat up fine.... The core temperatures are fine.. but I do think the tire surfaces should cool down quicker...
Most treads are designed to tread water.. With it catching air from the wheel spining the other way that should cool the tread a lot more. The open wheelers do this a lot better of course.. but I think the other passenger vehicles should have a fraction of this type of tire cooling so the tire surfaces don't get soo hot without the overall core being up there (from normal racing/hotlaping).
we are currently on Y. That is when X was released... Whats the question?
Edit: I know they are working on the next patch right now, but it's just fixed bugs from the Y patch I'm assuming.
When I said "The Last patch update" I ment, aside from what we are currently on.
I kind of thought they had some sort of drafting. I guess I haven't noticed much wind noise change. Or it pulling your car ever so slightly if you are starting to leave the path at higher speeds.
I feel the same way. I paid for the beta thinking there would be some sort of development.. It's not even worth looking at the home page for update details anymore.. the last patch was released Jun 8th, 2007 (Patch X).
I only care for more track content and you'd never hear a peep out of me.. The ability to draft would make things a bit more fun for long circuit races. Also introducing brake temp would be good with the added clutch heat.
Also I HOPE to see a "RBR" to compete with the UFR and XFR and have hybrid/dirt tires so we could have more of a deticaited rally car (only type of car I think they are lacking). Also hopefully they would fix the weight to chassis ratio, they are too balanced from where the motor weight is in each car. I hope they have updated sounds and make the cockpit view not in sync with the car
Two years from now. I'm expecting a few bug fixes, possibly a few more language pack updates inbetween the time and the GTR cockpits (that I dont look at while I'm racing). I am never expecting S3. The LFS engine is there and great, I just wish they could do more with it (MORE TRACK CONTENT) or sell the rights to someone that will. I dont expect anything out of the Dev team in two years.. I lost faith for a big content update
I've been cheating on LFS with GTR2 and I don't feel guilty
When the clutch is fully clamped by the pressure plate, rolling over some bumps wouldn't cause it to slip.
Most stock clutchs can handle a lot more power then what the motor is rated for, even on eco cars the stock clutches can hold about 2x the engines power in stock form.
I just always seen people say they just talk and have no replay to back it. I'm providing a replay. It starts to gets too hot around the 8th lap.
haha, the only thing I think need to be messed with some of these cars are weight ballancing with the engine weight on the chassis F/R ratio. Which in turn would make them all more difficult to drive
I used my xbox (1) controller, I didn't really care for it.. I was able to set the triggers as it's own acess points to have pressure senstive gas and brake.
I like my mouse alot better.. I can drive without any cultch help.. blip the throttle, just it was slower with braking otherwise I'd tend to get flat spots.
I've been "in" for awhile now just using my mouse (up and downshifting via wheel scroller and no clutch help) You're still able to brake and blip the throttle but never able to hand control over the brakes...
Anyways, I'm really thinking about buying a G25 and taking this game to a whole new level today!
I dont think you'll ever get that same rush as lfs, in GT you know you have a bumper all around your car..
LFS will probably always be my main favorite game... I do wish for more updates and updates with plans on the game (future patches).. I dont care for new cockpits right now.. I wish they would perfect the every sim aspect right now (torqing of drivelines (from what I've heard), gear boxes that can break, maybe radiator damage so you can overheat your car). If your really focusing on the interior that much you must not be racing
You would be paying for S3 and never get the full version for free I'm assuming.. But GT5 will become outdated so dont act like it's going to be the newest thing forever..
I'm sure the crash physics are still like bumper cars and wont even come close to lfs..
Although I'm bummed about the lack of progress in LFS, I just hope for more physics upgrading.... I'm not complaining about GFX or sounds at all, but thought they set any kind of goals.
Plus LFS will be able to constantly updating any type of force feedback and keep it at top.. If the dev's jump on anything.
I like lfs, will stick with it.. But wish they could get to that level of physics they keep talking about then go towards GFX and sounds.
